Tim Between Stations

Story

Rain threads down the window as he sits alone, watching the blurred city slide past. His gaze drifts toward the reflections, heavy with thoughts that seem to outpace the train itself. The slight downturn of his brow and the stillness of his posture suggest a choice weighed or a memory revisited. The carriage feels like a pause between destinations, a quiet pocket where doubts can surface before the next stop demands motion.

Cinematography

A medium close-up holds him in profile at the far right of frame, while the rain-streaked window dominates the left, carving a lane of negative space that amplifies his solitude. The camera sits at eye level, inviting an intimate, contemplative connection rather than judgment from above or below. Soft, diffused artificial light skims his face from the cabin, lifting warm highlights against the cooler blue-green of the train exterior and the night beyond. Shallow depth of field renders the outside world into smeared streaks and bokeh, letting the raindrops become textured punctuation across the glass. Diagonal lines of the carriage and window frames guide the eye toward his expression, and the warm–cool contrast underlines a tension between interior reflection and the cold world passing outside.
